A Mile of Minis at Dorney Lake |
On Sunday 11th of September 2011 the Italian Job and Maidenhead Rotary Club are joining forces for the second year running, to stage a ‘Mile of Minis on the Lake’ at Dorney Lake in Berkshire...and we seriously need you and your Mini to join us.Mini owners will meet at the Mini Plant Oxford in Horspath road (OX4 2RD) for a welcome coffee and a leisurely look around the collecion of cars on display/ following instructions in their route book, which will contain some simple clues to solve, teams will drive to Dorney Lake, the 2012 Olympic Rowing compeiion, venue where marshals will be on hand to assist for parking. There will be ample time for a brisk walk around the gardens and woodland surrounding the lake prior to enjoying a tradiional BBQ. The moving mile will be called at 3pm and this will provide a great opportunity for some fantasic photo’s. Final informaion, timings and full instrucions will be sent with confirmation of entry. For anyone travelling from afar, there is a wide range of accommodation available locally from camp sites, guest houses and hotels. The cost for a Mini and driver is only £20.00 and includes light breakfast and coffee, route book, mile of minis sicker and a quality BBQ lunch. The cost per addiional person is only £15.00 The aim of this event over and above forming a ‘Mile of Minis on the Lake’ is to raise a few pounds for Variety Club Children’s Charity and Maidenhead Rotary Club. A sponsorship form will be sent to all entrants and all we ask is that you do your very best to raise £30.00.
